Calling All Volunteers
The Western Cape Government is looking for keen, compassionate matriculants and recent graduates with great English and Maths marks to join the Year Beyond Volunteer Programme programme and help build the future with our youth
Applications are welcome from young people between the ages of 18 and 25 years old who are passionate about making a change in their own lives and in broader society.
Are you eligible to apply?
If you’ve passed Matric and have good grades in English and Maths or Maths literacy, then you are eligible to apply. Graduates (Diploma, Degree, Honours etc.) from all fields of study are eligible to apply. Students who are taking the whole year off from their tertiary studies are also eligible to apply.
IMPORTANT: YearBeyond is a full-time commitment. Volunteers are required to attend the programme from Monday – Friday, from 9am – 6pm.

- In addition to the work you’ll be doing to support learners in schools, as a volunteer you’ll be building your personal profile and setting yourself up for success in the long term.
- The Volunteer Development Programme has been crafted to support you in your efforts in schools, and also to prepare you for the world of work and tertiary studies.
- Short courses at Stellenbosch University, skills development, networking events and facilitated personal growth sessions will set you in good stead to take on any opportunity that will cross your path after Year Beyond!
