Picasso Headline, a leading South African publishing house is looking for editorial, social media and advertising interns to join its team in Cape Town.
1. Editorial Internship
This is a 12 month fixed-term contract offered to recent graduates/final-year students interested in obtaining entry-level experience within a broad range of editorial functions within magazine publishing. The successful candidate would be required to assist specifically with the bellow outputs key to this function:
Researching story leads
Writing editorial content
Fact checking
Copy editing
Reviewing editorial submissions and correspondence
Requirements:
Degree or diploma in Journalism/English
2. Social Media Internship
This is a six month fixed-term contract offered to recent graduates/final-year students interested in obtaining entry-level experience in social media within a publishing environment. This is a key role and will play an important part in setting the long-term vision of our social media marketing strategy. The successful candidate would be required to:
Set-up and manage relevant social media communities
Monitor and manage all communication through social media channels
Schedule and post approved content
Track and report on all social channels
Daily monitoring of communities and the responses needed
Assist with the planning and the implementation of social media marketing strategies
Stay abreast of current industry trends and technology, creating and updating quarterly reviews
Motivate for new social platforms and educate the team on the various platforms
Manage campaign objectives and make recommendations to ensure campaign goals are met
Review analytics and metrics, provide reporting
Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in related field
Solid experience with Microsoft Office
Experience with all major social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Youtube, Pinterest, WordPress, LinkedIn) would be advantageous
3. Advertising Content internship
This is a six month fixed-term contract offered to recent graduates/final-year students interested in obtaining entry-level experience in Advertising within a publishing environment. This is a key role and will play an important part in contributing to the long-term vision of advertising and marketing strategy. The successful candidate would be involved in:
Collection of all advertising material, finished and to be designed on all allocated titles.
Managing clients expectations in a timeous and accurate manner.
Preparing all such content for studio and trafficking thereof while following in house procedures.
Ensuring all advertising material is accounted for and correct at the time of going to print.
Requirements:
Diploma/Degree in Marketing
Solid experience with Microsoft Office
