Netcare Polokwane Hospital Hospital is looking for a Laundry General Assistant to be responsible for the distribution of clean linen and collection of dirty linen throughout the hospital.
Responsibilities
- Collecting dirty linen from departments according to schedule and on request
- Counting of linen
- Distribution of clean linen to departments
- Sorting of dirty curtains to laundry
- Stock counting
- Reporting shortages and damages of linen to the Laundry Supervisor
- Follow protocol when working with infected linen
- Ensure proper control measures are implemented to monitor hospital linen
- Ability to implement and maintain standards of health care practise required from all accreditation bodies and applicable nursing and health legislation
- Produce high quality of work standards by accurately checking processes and tasks
- Identify and understand problems and opportunities in order to take appropriate action and/ or to solve problems effectively
- Ability to priortise by managing time and resources to ensure that work is completed
- Active participation with the health care team and with all customers
- Communicate well at all levels
- Work effectively and co-operatively with others, by establishing and maintaining good working relationships
- Exercise tolereance, patience and tact when dealing with people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or Equivalent NQF qualification
- Sound knowledge of private hospital business operations
- 1 years experience in a laundry environment
