Journalism Internship Programme 2018 @The_New_Age

South Africa’s fastest growing daily newspaper, The New Age and 24 hour TV news channel ANN7 is now recruiting for its first batch of its 2016 journalism internship programme.

Are you:

  • A dynamic, talented and confident young graduate with a passion for storytelling?
  • Do you have an excellent general knowledge and grasp of the English language?
  • Do you want to shape public discussion through the stories you tell?
  • Are you a hard worker who pays attention to detail and who seeks a long-term career in journalism?

If you’ve answered yes to all the above, The New Age and ANN7, would like to meet you.

The programme was was launched in 2012 to blood a new crop of journalists in a changing landscape. It is a joint initiative between the paper and TV news channel ANN7 and participants get to experience the inner workings of both print and broadcast journalism. More than 76 graduates have competed the 6-month course, which incorporates three months of theory and course work and three of practical work in the print and broadcasting newsroom. Many now can be found working at most of the country’s media houses.

So if you’ve always wanted to be a journalist but didn’t know how to go about it, this is your big opportunity.

Requirements

  • University Degree or Diploma
  • Valid drivers’ licence
  • Letter of motivation (500 words)
  • Examples of published work
