What Does the SAICA Trainee Accountant Role Involve?

During the three-year training programme, trainees will rotate through various departments across the Sanlam Group, including Sanlam Life and Savings, Sanlam Investment Group, SanlamAllianz, Sanlam FinTech, Santam, and the Group Office.

Through this rotational exposure, you will develop a wide range of SAICA-prescribed competencies, including:

  • Ethics and Citizenship
  • Business and Financial Acumen
  • Decision-Making and Digital Skills
  • Internal Audit and Governance
  • Risk Management
  • Taxation and Financial Reporting

This hands-on experience will prepare you for a thriving career in finance, audit, or strategic decision-making within a global business environment.


Minimum Requirements

To apply for the Sanlam CA Training Programme, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Certificate in the Theory of Accountancy (CTA) or a SAICA-recognised Postgraduate qualification
  • Academic average of 60% or higher
  • Membership or involvement in a university or community organisation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (advantageous)
