The Department of Basic Education, in partnership with SA Youth, is now recruiting for Phase V of the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative (PYEI-BEEI). This opportunity is aimed at unemployed youth who want to gain valuable experience by working in public schools across South Africa.

Monthly Stipend
Participants will receive R4,000 per month (less 1% UIF contribution), plus R30.00 data allowance.

- Curriculum Assistants
- Reading Champions
- e-Cadres – ICT integration in classrooms
- Care and Support Assistants – psychosocial support
- Laboratory Assistants
- Workshop Assistants – technical schools
General School Assistant (GSA) roles:
- Help with infrastructure and school maintenance
- Administrative support
- Health and safety initiatives
- Sport, arts, and culture assistance
Who Should Apply?
- South African citizens aged 18 to 34 years
- Must have a valid South African ID or Smart ID card
- Must live within 5 km of a school or within 30 km for farm or rural schools
- Must not be in education, training, or employment
- Must not have participated in any previous PYEI-BEEI phase
- Youth with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply
