GIZ Finanical Governance Internship 2018

An Internship has become available for a Intern – Governance Support Programme. The main objective of the internship is to support the Programme of the programme in cooperation with the responsible Technical Advisor. Furthermore, the intern will support the preparation and implementation of Human Capacity Development (HCD) activities in different components of the programme.

The intern shall support the Programme Manager and Technical Advisor’s with regard to research and facilitation, coordination and administration.

The intern will get insights into the day to day business of a complex programme of German International Cooperation working on Public Finance. Key tasks include:

• Provide support services for the programme
• Providing selective research services for the programme components.
• Supporting the team in research and organizational matters
• Make sure that there is cross learning between the different cooperation initiatives that support the programme
• Support information exchange between project / programme staff in the different locations (Pretoria, Yaoundé and Germany), partners and other institutions
• Support to preparation and organisation of internal meetings and internal communication and documentation thereof.
• Support administrative and logistical aspects of project activities (meeting, workshop etc)
• Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management.

The intern should have:

• A degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, or similar study fields. (At least a Bachelor, interns who are currently undertaking their Masters will be given preference)
• Sound communication skills including very good writings skills in English.
• French or German language skills will be an asset.
• Ability to work independently and further develop concepts.
• An interest in the Field of Good (Financial) Governance.
