Key Responsibilities:
As an Assistant: Pumping, you will be part of the Modder East division under the Conventional Engineering business unit. Your primary duties will include providing efficient support within the Engineering (Pumping) section, ensuring all pumps in your area of responsibility are in good working order, and assisting with the installation and maintenance of pumps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Engineering (Pumping) section to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure pumps are operational and in good working condition at all times.
- Report any pump failures immediately to prevent flooding in working areas.
- Assist with the repair and extension of delivery pipes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in your designated area to maximize pump efficiency.
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and relocation of pumps.
- Follow all safety standards and guidelines, ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
Qualifying Criteria:
To be considered for the Assistant: Pumping position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum Qualification: Grade 11 or equivalent qualification.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English and at least one other official language.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a mining environment (preferred but not required).
- Knowledge: Basic knowledge of underground water pumps is advantageous.
- Citizenship: South African citizenship.
- Criminal Record: A clear criminal record is required.
